Prof. Young-Woo Kwon

Young-Woo Kwon is an associate professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Kyungpook National University(KNU) in S.Korea. Prior to joining KNU, he was an assistant professor at Utah State University from 08/2014 to 06/2017. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from VirginiaTech under the supervision of Dr. Eli Tilevich in 2014. His research interests span Mobile Computing, Cloud-Based Systems, and Software Engineering, as applied to Middleware, Energy Efficiency, and Software Refactoring. Prior to his doctoral studies, he earned B.S. from Kyungpook National University and M.S. from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), South Korea in 2003 and 2005 respectively. He also held senior software engineering positions at Daewoo Electronics and NHN (now Naver).







Post Docs
Irshad Khan
Irshad Khan is a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Kyungpook National University (KNU) in South Korea. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from KNU under the supervision of Prof. Young-Woo Kwon in 2022. He received his M.S degree in computer science from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences Peshawar 2009. His area of expertise includes artificial intelligence, machine learning, and its application in IoT domain. During his doctoral studies, he worked on earthquake detection in real-time using IoT devices. He has very good research, development, and teaching experience.
PhD Candidates/Students
Jangsoo Lee
Jangsoo Lee is studying for the Ph.D at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Kyungpook National University. He received the B. S., and M. S. from Kyungpook National University in 2018, and 2020 respectively. His research interests spans Internet of Things, Middleware, and Distributed System.

Seonheong Kim
Seon-hyeong Kim received the B.S degree in Applied Bioscience from Kyungpook National University(KNU), Korea in 2018. She received her M.S degree in Computer Science and Engineering from KNU in 2020. And now she is pursuing her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from KNU. She is interested in Internet of Things, Mobile Computing, and Big data. Her current research is about shared information platform for disaster and the response system.

Wu Aming
Aming Wu joined the lab as a Ph.D. student in 2020; he received the M.S. degree in mathematics and technology from The Education University of Hong Kong under Dr. LING, Man Ho Alpha, in 2019. He received his B.S. from Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, China, in 2018. His research interests include federated learning, deep learning, and data mining.

Manish Pandey
Manish Pandey is a Ph.D. student in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Kyungpook National University(KNU) in S.Korea. He received his Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Kyungpook National University under the supervision of Dr. Young-Woo Kwon in 2021. His research interests include Edge Computing, Software Engineering, and middleware. He received his B.S. from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2015.

Jiashun Hao is M.S. student in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Kyungpook National University. He received Academic Degree in Computer Science and Technology in 2022. His research interests include distributed system, deep learning, and data mining.

Hyunmin Jung is M.S student in Graduate School of Computer Science and Engineering at Kyungpook National University.

Gahyeon Lee
Gahyeon Lee is M.S student in Graduate School of Data Science at Kyungpook National University. She received a B.S. degree in physics and data science from Gyeongsang National University. Her research interests include data analysis and simulation.

JaeGeun Jang
JaeGeun Jang is M.S student in Graduate School of Data Science at Kyungpook National University. He received a B.S. degree from Kyungpook National University, Daegu, Republic of Korea. His research interests include Internet of Things and Data Analysis.

Iliyas Hadjou

Ilyas Hadjouis pursuing his M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering at Kyungpook National University in Korea. His academic journey began in Algeria, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems in 2019 and a Master's in Distributed Architecture in 2021. He is particularly interested in the potential of cloud computing, serverless technologies, distributed software engineering, and edge cloud computing.

Jinuk Jung

Jinuk Jung is an M.S. student in the Graduate School of Computer Science and Engineering at Kyungpook National University. His research interests include Edge Computing, Cloud, and Software Engineering.
